IS: 3177-1999 (latest) – Indian Standard Code of Practice for electric overhead traveling

cranes.

IS: 807- 2006 – Indian Standard Code of Practice for design, manufacture, erection and testing (structural portion) of cranes and hoists.

E.O.T Cranes has two types structure:

1. Single Girder Cranes

2. Double Girder Cranes

· Single Girder E.O.T Cranes suitable for span up-to 15 meters and load capacity up-to 7.5 MT. 

· Double Girder E.O.T Cranes are suitable for long span and heavy industrial load capacity. Suitable for metal industries and industries having high temperature conditions.  

E.O.T cranes based on the three directional motions

1. Long Travel (LT) : Motion along length of factory shade. Standard Speed  is 10-20 meters per min

2. Cross Travel (CT): Motion along width of factory shade. Standard speed is 10-15 meters per min.

3. Hoist: Motion in vertical direction, its works for loading unloading weight and speed is 1-5 meters per min.
